NEWPORT, NH – Entering the night needing just 17 points to reach the 1,000-point plateau, Newport’s Aaron Fellows poured in a game-high 29 points to lead Division III Newport past D-IV Hinsdale, 91-77, on Tuesday night.

The host Tigers came out firing as they unloaded 50 first-half points and took a 13-point lead to the half and it was too much for the Pacers to overcome.

Christian Forsythe added 24 points for Newport, while Travis Avery also netted 17. The Pacers were paced by 26 points from Chris Colon and 25 from Connor Dixon and Jack Winter added 13.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 4-1 on the season. Hinsdale has now dropped two regular-season games in a row and falls to 3-2.
