DERRY, NH – Undefeated Bedford got its biggest test of the season as the Bulldogs went on the road and escaped Pinkerton with a 48-43 victory on Monday night.
The seven-point victory is the closest contest Bedford has had all season. The second closest affair was also versus Pinkerton back on Jan. 7, 65-52. Aside from those two games versus the Astros, Bedford has run rough shod over the rest of their Division I opponents, winning by an average margin of victory of 37.3 points per game.
Monday night’s tilt was close throughout with neither team being able to gain more than a three-point edge until Kate Allard connected on a pair of free throws to ice the victory for the Bulldogs. Allard finished with a team-high 17 points and Sarah Muir added 12 for Bedford, who improves to a perfect 14-0.
Pinkerton, who falls to 11-4 with the loss, was paced by a game-high 20 points from Sydney Gerossie.
