NASHUA, N.H. — Rivier made just enough plays in the final minutes to outlast in-state foe Plymouth State, 66–65, in a tight non-conference battle Tuesday night at the Muldoon Center.
The Raiders built a 43–33 halftime lead on the strength of hot perimeter shooting and a balanced attack. Robenson Baguidy (Goffstown, N.H. / Goffstown) set the tone early, pushing the pace in transition and scoring 16 first-half points as Rivier shot 55 percent from the field and knocked down eight threes before the break.
Plymouth State answered after halftime behind its backcourt trio. Torran Bosworth attacked downhill and got to the line, finishing with a team-high 19 points. Yansel Reyes (Manchester, N.H. / Holderness School) added 14 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Will Mollica (Stratham, N.H. / St. Thomas Aquinas) chipped in 10 points and seven boards. The Panthers tightened defensively, holding Rivier to 23 points in the second half and steadily chipping away at the deficit.
Each side traded blows down the stretch in a game that featured nine lead changes and six ties. Izaiah Shaw-Glen powered Rivier in key moments with 12 points and nine rebounds in the frontcourt, and Theo Briscoe IV added 13 points on four made threes to keep the Raiders’ offense afloat as Plymouth State surged.
Plymouth State’s pressure created transition chances late, with Bosworth and Reyes converting at the rim and from the perimeter to pull the Panthers within a single possession. Keegan Martinez (Belmont, N.H. / Belmont) provided eight points off the bench, and Bory Bory (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Memorial) added energy on the glass.
Rivier, however, came up with the final stops it needed. Baguidy closed the night with 24 points, eight assists and three steals, directing traffic and protecting the ball as the Raiders held on through the last Plymouth State possession to secure the one-point win and move to 4–4 on the season.
Plymouth State drops to 3–4 but showed its depth and resiliency with a strong second-half push in a classic early-season New Hampshire matchup.
