Rivier comes up short vs. Colby

NASHUA, N.H. – Rivier dropped a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, falling to Colby College, 77–67, at the Muldoon Center. The loss moves the Raiders to 2–2 on the season, while Colby opened its slate at 1–0.

Colby opened the game on a 7–0 run, but Rivier responded with early scoring from senior Rob Baguidy (Goffstown, NH/Goffstown HS), sophomore Steph Barnes, and first-year Daylen Dalcour to steady the offense and close the gap to 13–9. Baguidy continued to attack the lane midway through the first half, helping the Raiders briefly take their first lead of the afternoon.

Rivier trailed just 33–31 at halftime after holding the Mules to three made three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes.

The Raiders maintained momentum early in the second half behind drives from sophomore Matt Youngquist and senior Izaiah Shaw-Glen, and a fast-break finish from junior Theo Briscoe IV gave Rivier a 45–44 advantage. The teams traded baskets over the next several minutes, with Shaw-Glen pacing the offense with eight second-half points to keep Rivier within 65–62.

Colby responded with a decisive 12–3 run late in the half, converting a three-pointer and three inside scores to pull ahead 77–65 before closing out the win at the free-throw line.

Baguidy led Rivier with 20 points, adding eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Shaw-Glen followed with 16 points to go along with seven boards and four assists, while Dalcour added 12 points from the frontcourt.

Rivier returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 18, traveling to take on the University of New England at 7 p.m.
