MANCHESTER – Behind a career-high 44 points and a program-record 12 threes from Josh Morissette, the St. Anselm men cruised to a 98-77 victory over visiting Franklin Pierce on Tuesday night in NCAA Division II action at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium in Manchester.
An Exeter native and Wofford College transfer, Morissette went 12-for-15 from beyond the arc en route to his record-breaking performance versus the in-state foe.
Tyler Arbuckle (25 points) and Zac Taylor (10) also netted double figures for St. Anselm, while the Ravens boasted a quartet of double-digit scorers. FPU was led by Sean Trumper (20), Jarnel Snow-Guzman (13), Ugo Nwachukwu (13) and RJ Delahaye (10). Sophomore Andrew Politi (Trinity HS) scored 6 points for the Ravens as well.
St. Anselm improves to 4-4 on the season, 2-3 in Northeast-10 Conference action and FPU falls to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in NE10 play.

MANCHESTER – The Franklin Pierce women came out firing as they outscored host St. Anselm 21-4 in the first quarter and rolled to a 67-42 win on Tuesday night at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium in Manchester.
The Ravens were led by Kenzie Sirowich (16 points) and Laia Llorente (11), while the Hawks were paced by Melanie Hoyt’s game-high 17 points and Tatum Forbes (10 points).

DOVER – The Farmington girls basketball team held Portsmouth Christian Academy to just five fourth-quarter points to escape Dover with a 47-41 victory on Tuesday evening.
The Tigers were led by 12 points from freshman Zoey Johnson and 11 points from Jaelyn Prosper. The Eagles received a game-high 14 points from Ava Buchanan, 12 from Jaela Stockbower and 11 from Kloe Mackenzie.
Farmington improves to 2-0 on the season, while PCA falls to 1-1.

DOVER – The Portsmouth Christian Academy boys jumped out to a 26-12 lead halfway through the second quarter and held off a late comeback as the Eagles hung on to defeat visiting Farmington, 51-48, on Tuesday night in Dover.
PCA was led by 12 points from Cai Summers and 10 from Wade Michaud, while Farmington was paced by 18 points from Demery Hadges.
A big blow for the Eagles came with three minutes in the second quarter as senior Connor Hickey suffered an ankle injury and did not return to the game. Hickey pumped in nine points in 14 minutes of action before his exit.
PCA improves to 2-0 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 1-1.

EXETER – Four former NHIAA All-State selections from a season ago squared off in New England Prep School Athletic Cousil (NEPSAC) action when Hebron Academy (ME) took on Phillips Exeter Academy at Exeter High School on Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Bike (Trinity) and Isaiah Reese (Gilford) laced ’em up for Phillips Exeter, while Matt Canavan (Souhegan) and Kayden Laclair (Newport) took to the court for Hebron.

Epping’s Henry Hodgkins tipped in his own miss with 50 seconds on the clock and then secured a steal with two ticks left in the game to help propel the Blue Devils to a thrilling come-from-behind win over visiting Holy Family in the season opener for both teams on Saturday night.
After an 8-8 first quarter, Holy Family opened up a six-point lead at the half and later led by three heading into the final stanza.
Epping was paced by Blake Snyder’s 16 points, while Hodgkins tallied 13. The Griffins were led by Enzo Yonkeu’s game-high 18 points.
Holy Family was playing without senior do-it-all guard Gabe Lacasse who was out with a groin injury. Lacasse entered the game just 27 points shy of his 1,000th.

Alex Drake (20 points) and Jack Krasnof (16) combined for 36 points to lead Derryfield to an opening night victory over visiting Wilton-Lyndeborough on Friday.
The Cougars jumped out to a commanding 37-5 lead at the break and never looked back. Wilton was led by Ben Jacob with 13 points.
