Groveton earns come-from-behind OT win over Epping

GROVETON, NH – No. 7 Groveton trailed by as many as 17 points before battling back to force overtime and coming away with a hard-fought 82-80 victory over visiting No. 10 Epping in a Division IV first-round battle on Monday night.

The hosts found themselves down double-digits headed into the fourth, with the visitors up 56-44.

The momentum in the fourth would turn in favor of the Eagles, who managed to put up an electrifying 29 points in the final frame. The flurry was capped off by a Brody Platt three-pointer with 5 seconds left to send the game to OT, tied at 73-73.

Groveton would outscore Epping 9-7 in the extra period to earn the victory. Hunter Parks was crucial for Groveton, scoring his season-high 34 in the win. Ashton Kenison would also add 20+ points, scoring 26. 

Epping was paced by 22 points from Henry Hodgkins, while Cam Kavanaugh added 14. Blake Snyder and Ben Follensbee would round out the double-digit scoring, each with 12. 

Groveton will head down to the state capital to take out unbeaten No. 2 Concord Christian Academy in quarterfinal action on Thursday night. Epping ends their season with a 9-10 record.

Hodgkins nets 1000th point, Epping downs Franklin

EPPING, NH – Entering the game needing five points to reach the 1000-point plateau, Epping’s Henry Hodgkins scored 13 points to reach the milestone and lead the Blue Devils past visiting Franklin, 60-34, on Monday night.

Blake Snyder led all scorers with a game-high 23 points for Epping. Nathan Holmes paced the Golden Tornadoes with 14 points.

With the win, the Blue Devils end the season at 9-9 as does Franklin.

Epping downs visiting Mascenic

EPPING, NH – Host Epping defeated Mascenic, 55-41, on Monday night.

The Blue Devils were led by 18 points from Henry Hodgkins, 14 from Blake Snyder and 13 from Cam Kavanaugh.

The Vikings were paced by a game-high 19 points from L Laroux.

With the win, Epping improves to 7-8 on the season, while Mascenic falls to 7-9.

Farmington girls and boys cruise past Epping on the road

EPPING, NH – Farmington went on the road and pulled off two dominant wins at Epping on Tuesday night. The FHS girls were victorious 74-15, while the boys won 60-37.

On the girls side, Madi Ricker (20 points), Shaylee DiPrizio (18), Anna Cardinal (15) and Zoey Johnson (15) all netted double digits for Farmington. Epping was led by eight points from Emily Carleton.

With the win, Farmington improves to 9-3 on the season, while the Blue Devils fall to 0-2.

On the boys side, Noah Elwell poured in a game-high 20 points for the Tigers, while Demery Hadges and Lucas Watson added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Epping was paced by Blake Snyder’s 11 points and Henry Hodgkins chipped in with 10.

FHS improves to 7-4 on the season, while Epping falls to 5-7.

PCA completes sweep, soars past Epping

DOVER, NH – Portsmouth Christian Academy hosted Epping on Friday and the Eagles came away with two wins. The PCA boys won 64-40 and the girls were victorious 59-15.

On the boys side, Jackson Malone tallied a season-high 20 points to lead all scorers, with Cai Summer added 19 of his own. Blake Snyder (13 points), Henry Hodgkins (11) and Grayson Davis (10) all scored in double figures for Epping. 

The Eagles improve to 8-3 with the win, while the Blue Devils drop their fourth straight, falling to to 5-6. 

On the girls side, Ava Buchanan led all scorers with 24 points and Tilly Arico added 10 of her own for PCA.

With the win, the Eagles jump to 8-3, while Epping falls to 0-11.

Raymond sweeps Epping

RAYMOND, NH – Raymond came away with a sweep of Epping in a cross division matchup Tuesday night. For the boys it was a big 75-47 victory, while the girls also came away with a 39-22 win.

On the boys side, the Division III Rams were led by Logan Brien who had 20 points. Aiden York and Jacobi Cumberbatch added 15 apiece. The Rams are now 8-3 on the year following the victory. 

Henry Hodgkins was the leading scorer for the D-IV Blue Devils with 13 on the night. Blake Snyder put in 12 as well and Grayson Davis finished in double figures with 11. With the loss Epping falls back to .500 on the year at 5-5. 

On the girls side, it was a big first half run of 27-8 that allowed them to cruise to the win. The Rams had 7 different players score in this one. They were led by Meadow Mitchell with 10 points. Raymond moves to 3-7 with the win and snap a four-game losing streak. 

Epping girls fall to 0-10 on the season with the loss.

Colebrook sweeps Epping

COLEBROOK, N.H – Colebrook hosted Epping on Friday night and came away with two Division IV victories as the Mohawk girls cruised to a 70-14 win and the boys snapped a three-game skid with an 80-62 victory.

On the girls side, Haley Rossito buried four threes as part of her 23 point performance to lead all scorers for Colebrook. Lexi Santamaria added 14 for the Mohawks. 

With the win, Colebrook improves to 9-0, while Epping drops to 0-9.

On the boys side, the Mohawks were paced by 30 points from Jackson Weir, including 19 from the free throw line and Dart Cauller added 29, both of which were season highs. 

Henry Hodgkins had 21 to led the Blue Devils, with Blake Snyder (12) and Cam Kavanaugh (10) both adding double-figures. 

Colebrook gets a much needed win, improving to 4-5 on the season, while Epping slips to 5-4.

Newmarket defense smothers Epping

NEWMARKET, NH – Newmarket held Epping scoreless in the first and third quarters en route to a 53-9 victory on Monday night.

Amaya Beckles led all scorers with 12 points for the Mules, who had eight players score. The Blue Devils were paced by Lyla Shumway.

With the win, Newmarket improves to 7-1, while Epping drops to 0-8.

Raymond rolls past Epping

EPPING, NH – Division III Raymond went on the road and defeated Division IV Epping, 49-15, on Tuesday night.

Mollee Messenger scored 15 points, including a trio of three pointers, while Meadow Mitchell joined her in double figures with 13 of her own for the Rams.

With the win, Raymond jumps to 2-3 and Epping falls to 0-6.

Raymond downs Epping, remains unbeaten

EPPING, NH – Raymond stays undefeated as the Rams used a 23-point second quarter to defeat Epping, 61-46, on Tuesday night.

The Rams were led by three scorers in double digits: Drezell Duffaut (13), Caden Claytor (12) and Cam Morrill (10).

The Blue Devils were led by the game’s leading scorer Cam Kavanaugh, who tallied a season high 18, including four three pointers.

Raymond climbs to 5-0 on the season, while Epping falls to 4-2.
