Nute downs Pittsfield in double overtime

In a back-and-forth game all night, Nute defeated visiting Pittsfield, 64-62, on Monday night in Milton.

Jackson Lafogg paced the Rams with 22 points, including four threes, and Collin Hathorn (14) and Zakari Lapanne (11) added double figures as well.

Brayden Pelletier poured in a game-high 29 points for Pittsfield, while Mike Casey (18) and Justin Rivera (12) both added double digits as well. The Panthers connected on 11 three-pointers in the game, including five by Pelletier and four by Casey.

With the win, Nute has now won three of its last four and improves to 5-11 on the season. The Panthers fall to 1-14.

Manchester West wins battle of the Knights

Max Shosa pumped in a game-high 23 points, including the 1,000th of his career, to lead the Manchester West Blue Knights to a 66-61 victory over the visiting Kingswood Knights on Tuesday night.

West’s Will Tanuvasa also had 16 points, while Brady Moulton led the Knights with 21 points and Emerson De Nitto (11) and Will Crane (10) both added double digits as well.

With the win, West stretches its win streak to three games and improves to 10-3. Kingswood has now dropped three-in-a-row and falls to 5-8.

Goffstown hangs on for win over Portsmouth

In a close game throughout, Goffstown hung on and came away with a 62-60 win over visiting Portsmouth on Tuesday night.

The Grizzlies were led by Xander McBournie’s 16 points, 13 from Gio Santos and 10 apiece from Cam Hujsak and Noah Durham. Pacing the Clippers was Isaiah Reis with a game-high 21 points, while Miles de Iongh added 15.

With the win, Goffstown improves to 7-6 on the season, while Portsmouth falls to 7-6.

Farmington blanks Newmarket in 2nd quarter, earns road win

Farmington trailed 18-13 after one quarter of play, but the Tigers shutout host Newmarket, 12-0, in the 2nd quarter to take control and roll to a 62-45 victory on Tuesday night.

A trio of scorers set the pace for Farmington as Shawn Murphy (15), Demery Hadges (13) and Cody Brazee (12) all netted double figures. The Mules were led by Parker Sweitzer’s game-high 19 points and 12 from Jaron Labranche.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 14-3 on the season and are in sole possession of the coveted fourth spot in the Division IV standings. Newmarket falls to 6-10.

Newmarket defense denies Farmington

Newmarket held visiting Farmington without a field goal for the opening 10 minutes of action and won a pivotal Division IV match-up, 29-22, on Tuesday night.

The Mules won the opening quarter 10-3 and that proved to be the difference as they won by a seven-point margin. Newmarket was led by a game-high 10 points from Kiara Rugora, while the Tigers were paced by 8 points from Anna Cardinal.

The win moves the Mules to 14-3 on the season and puts a strangle hold on the #3 seed for the upcoming state tournament.

Farmington entered the game in fourth place, but the Tiger’s loss snaps a four-game win streak and puts them in a four-way tie for fifth place in the loss column.

Derryfield stops surging Belmont, improves to 15-1

Jack Krasnof poured in a game-high 28 points as Division IV Derryfield defeated D-III Belmont, 61-45, on Monday night.

The win marks the fifth straight for the Cougars (15-1), while the loss snaps the Red Raiders (9-7) five-game streak.

Zach Martin (11) and Alex Drake (10) both added double digits for Derryfield as well. Keegan Martinez led Belmont with 24 points.

Derryfield defeats Mascenic

Led by 16 points apiece from Jack Krasnof and Zach Martin, Derryfield defeated visiting Mascenic, 68-40, on Friday night in Manchester.

Alex Comire (13) and Billy Gardener (10) also netted double-digits for the Cougars. Mascenic was paced by a game-high 21 points from Leroux.

With the win, Derryfield improves to 14-1 on the season and currently sits in second place in the Division IV standings. The Vikings vall to 5-10.
