Groveton sweeps Lin-Wood on the road

LINCOLN, N.H. – Groveton picked up a varsity sweep on Thursday night at Lin-Wood, earning a pair of decisive wins behind balanced efforts on both sides of the doubleheader.

Girls: Groveton 69, Lin-Wood 17

The Eagles set the tone early and never looked back, fueled by a trio of double-digit scorers. Julia Chappell led the way with 12 points, while Delaney Whiting and Luci Garcia each added 12 and 10, respectively. Makalyn Kenison also reached double figures with 10 points, helping Groveton pull away behind a 36-point first half.

Lin-Wood was paced by Isabella Powers, who scored 4 points to lead the Lumberjacks.

Boys: Groveton 68, Lin-Wood 25

Groveton completed the sweep with another strong showing, powered by Hunter Parks, who finished with a game-high 22 points. Ian Kennett scored 12 and Ashton Kenison added 10 as the Eagles controlled the pace from start to finish and held Lin-Wood to single-digit scoring in each quarter.

The Lumberjacks were led by Spencer Arpin, who scored 10 points, and Kyle Weeden, who added 8.
