#5 Keene State starts slow, finishes strong versus Plymouth State

PLYMOUTH – The fifth-ranked Keene State men trailed by as many as nine points in the first half before flexing their Division III muscle to pull away to an 83-58 victory over in-state foe Plymouth State at Foley Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Ocatavio Brito pumped in a game-high 30 points for the Owls, while teammates Jeff Hunter (15 points) and Mason Jean Baptiste (10) also tallied double-figures. Pacing the Panthers was Torran Bosworth (20), Elijah Swanson (12) and Kyler Bosse (10).

Bosse etched his name in the Plymouth State annals as his jumper with 7:25 left in the first half gave him 1,000 for his career. The Manchester, N.H. native becomes the 35th player in school history to reach the milestone.

With the victory, Keene improves to 8-1 on the season, while Plymouth falls to 4-5. Next up, the Owls host #12 Tufts on Saturday at 2:00 pm.

#4 Keene State denied late by #11 Middlebury

The fourth-ranked Keene State men’s basketball team had its 15-game, season-opening win streak snapped on Monday night by #11 Middlebury, 86-82, at Spaulding Gym in Keene.

It was a back-and-forth affair as the Owls trailed in the first half by as many as 11 and then led late in the second half by five before the visiting Panthers closed the game on an 8-0 run to come away with the victory.

#8 Keene State off to best start in program history

The eighth-ranked Keene State Owls improved to a program best 9-0 start on the season with a 95-65 win over visiting Plymouth State in NCAA Division III action on Wednesday night at Spaulding Gymnasium in Keene. The hot-shooting Owls have been deadly from long-range this season and they torched the nets last night with 18-41 shooting (43.9%) from beyond the arc.
