Division III tournament brackets released

The bracket for the 2022 NHIAA Division III Boys Basketball State Tournament has been released. Preliminary round games will take place on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

Goffstown cruises past Bishop Guertin, advances to semis

Third-seeded Goffstown cruised to a 54-36 victory over #6 Bishop Guertin in quarterfinal action of the NHIAA Division I Boys Basketball State Tournament. The Grizzlies advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2015 and will take on #2 Nashua North.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but it was all Goffstown from then on out. Bishop Guertin struggled from the field in the first half as they endured a 5:24 scoreless drought and trailed 26-11 at the break. 

Trinity topples Bedford to advance to semifinals

Top-seeded Trinity came out swinging in its quarterfinal game versus #8 Bedford on Saturday as the Pioneers poured in 26 points in the first quarter en route to a 78-65 victory. Trinity advances to the semifinals and will take on #4 Pinkerton. The Pioneers were paced by a game-high 23 points from Mark Nyomah, while teammate Tyler Bike added 22. The Bulldogs were led by 16 points from Austin Kasyjanski.

Pinkerton punches ticket to semis with win over Portsmouth

In the first Division I quarterfinal of the day, #4 Pinkerton survived #5 Portsmouth, 56-50, in Derry on Saturday afternoon. Jackson Marshall led the way for the Astros with a game-high 29 points, including 13 in the first quarter. The Clippers were led by Jack Radcliffe’s 15 points. The Astros advance to the state semifinals where they will take on the winner of the Trinity-Bedford game.

Top-seeded Souhegan cruises past #8 Laconia

Playing in their first game of the NHIAA Division II Boys Basketball State Tournament, top-seeded Souhegan flexed their muscles versus #8 Laconia as the Sabers cruised to a 67-40 victory in quarterfinal action in Amherst on Friday night.

Souhegan advances to the semifinals where they will take on #4 Lebanon. Check out highlights of the action…

Derryfield pulls away late from Farmington

Derryfield, the second-highest scoring team in Division IV, poured in 21 points in the 4th quarter to pull away at Farmington on Friday night and come away with a 61-51 victory. The win for the Cougars snapped the Tigers three-game win streak.

D-IV’s leading scorer, Thomas Ferdinando, paced Derryfield with a team-high 18 points, but was held to just five in the second half. Teammate John McDevitt picked up the slack after the break as he tallied 12 of his 16 to help seal the deal for Derryfield.

Farmington was led by 14 points from Shawn Murphy, while Brian Weeks added 10.
