Bedford blows past Winnacunnet

Bedford dropped 32 points in the opening quarter and never looked back as the Bulldogs blew past visiting Winnacunnet, 82-51, on Tuesday night.

Luke Soden poured in a game-high 32 points for Bedford as the Bulldogs had 11 players score on the night. Winnacunnet was led by Tyson Khalil’s 15 points and 10 from Andrew Simmons.

Kingsmen down Tigers, remain perfect

In a pivotal Division IV match-up, the undefeated Concord Christian Kingsmen improved to 13-0 on the season with a 69-56 victory over Farmington (11-2) on Tuesday night.

The Kingsmen pumped in 24 fourth-quarter points to pull away late and earn the big win. Sophomore Brode Frink led all scorers with a game-high 28 points, while Ethan Young added 17 points for CCA. The Tigers were paced by 16 points from Jordan Berko, who was plagued with foul trouble for a large portion of the first half. Matt Savoy added 12 points for FHS.

Concord Christian led by eight at the half and six after three quarters of play, but the Tigers managed to cut the lead to three, 46-43, a few minutes into the fourth. The Kingsmen responded with a 13-1 run, that was capped by a Frink tomahawk jam and gave CCA a 15-point lead, 59-44. The deficit was too big for the Tigers to overcome.

Klein beats the buzzer for the Bobcats

Caitlin Klein’s heave just inside of half court beat the buzzer to give Oyster River a dramatic 52-49 come-from-behind victory over visiting Hollis-Brookline on Monday night.

The Bobcats trailed by 10 at half and seven entering the fourth quarter, before tying the game at 49-49. Oyster River called a timeout with 3.1 seconds to go, setting up Klein’s heroics. 

Riley Drapeau (16 points) and Gabrielle Deane (14) led the way for the Bobcats, while the Cavaliers boasted three players in double digits: Daniella Allanach (14), McKenna Dunn (13) and Cheyenne Colbert (10). 

Oyster River improves to 8-3 on the season, while Hollis-Brookline falls to 7-4.

Newmarket denies PCA

Newmarket put the clamps on Portsmouth Christian Academy as the visiting Mules defeated the Eagles, 46-32, in a pivotal Division IV game on Monday night.

Newmarket was led by a trio of double-figure scorers: Ella Gallion (12), Amaya Beckles (12) and Lena Nicholson (10). PCA was paced by 10 points from Hannah Dion. 

With the win, the Mules improve to 10-3 on the season, while the Eagles fall to 9-4.

North downs South

Nashua North defeated crosstown rival Nashua South, 54-47, on Sunday afternoon in front of a full house at Belanger Gym. Trevor Labrecque led the Titans with a game-high 23 points, while Zac Castonguay paced the Purple Panthers with 16 points and Josh Caruso added 12.
