Merrimack downs Central in OT

Merrimack trailed by eight points after three quarters, but pumped in 20 points in the fourth to force overtime before coming away with a 66-60 victory at Manchester Central on Monday night.

The Tomahawks were led by a game-high 22 points from David Roy, while Jackson Rosa (16), Isaac Infante (11) and Michael Flerra (10) also contributed with double figures. Wesley Olmeda (14 points), Asher Zegno (12) and Sean Venator (11) paced the Little Green.

With the win, Merrimack snaps a four-game skid to improve to 6-8 on the season. Central has now dropped four in a row and falls to 2-11.

Grizzlies sink Green Wave

Behind a game-high 24 points from Ryan Strand, Goffstown cruised to a 64-38 victory over visiting Dover on Monday night.

Colin Buckley chipped in with 13 points for the Grizzlies, while Dover was paced by Stephen Gitau’s 15 points.

Goffstown improves to 6-8 on the season and Dover falls to 5-10.

Laconia survives Pelham in D-II showdown

Two of the top teams in Division II locked horns on Monday night and Laconia (14-1) hung on to earn a hard-fought 57-56 over visiting Pelham (14-3).

The Sachems took a nine-point lead to the break, 35-26, but the Pythons responded with an 18-point third quarter to cut the lead to one. Laconia held on in the final stanza to come away with the win.

Kayden Roberts led all scorers with a game-high 26 points for the Sachems, while Keaton Beck (12) and Carson Tucker (11) both added double digits.

Pelham was paced by 24 points from Dom Herrling and 19 from Zach James.

Bracket is set for Division III Girls

The 15-team field is set for the 2023 NHIAA Girls Basketball Division III State Tournament.

Conant (17-1) has earned the top seed in the bracket and receives a first round bye for their efforts.

First round action of the D-III tourney tips off on Wednesday with seven games at 7:00 pm. Check out the bracket and stay tuned for our coverage announcement later this week…

Division III Boys Bracket Set

The field is set for the 2023 NHIAA Boys Basketball Division III State Tournament.

Three-time defending champion Gilford (18-0) has once again garnered the top seed in the 15-team bracket and receives a bye for the first round of play. St. Thomas Aquinas (16-1), the second seed, garners the other opening round bye.

The D-III tourney tips off tomorrow with a six-pack of games at 7:00 pm. Check out the bracket and stay tuned for our coverage announcement tomorrow…

St. Thomas sinks Somersworth, secures #2 seed

Earlier this week, St. Thomas went on the road and defeated Somersworth, 58-43, on Tuesday’s Senior Night for the Hilltoppers and secured the #2 seed for the upcoming Division III state tournament.

The Saints later closed out the regular season with a 51-42 win over Hopkinton and are 16-1. Somersworth lost at Berlin to end their regular season and are 7-9.
