First-quarter surge sends St. Thomas past Somersworth

DOVER NH – St. Thomas recorded its second win of the season in dominating fashion over Somersworth, 68-19, on Wednesday night.

The Saints reeled off a 24-2 run in the first quarter and never looked back. They were led by Juliannae Stowell with 13 points on the night. Emilie von der Linden tallied 12 points as well. For Somersworth Hannah Pincince led all scorers with seven.

The Hilltoppers move to 0-3 on the season. STA moves to 2-0 for the year.

Red Raiders roll past Golden Eagles

BELMONT, NH – The Red Raiders picked up their second win of the season with a 61-45 win at home against Gilford on Wednesday night.

Belmont was led by a trio of double digit scorers. Treshawn Ray was the leader with 20, while Anakin Underhill added 14 and Keegan Martinez scored 16. Martinez finished the game with 987 career points, just 13 away from 1,000 for his high school career.

The Golden Eagles were paced by Mark Uicker who had 22 points.

Belmont moves to 2-0 on the season with the victory. Gilford suffers their first loss of the year and falls to 1-1.

Newport rallies late past Fall Mountain

NEWPORT, NH – Newport picks up the victory in a hard fought battle against Fall Mountain Tuesday night, 62-55. 

The Tigers entered the fourth quarter down 42-40 but a 22-13 fourth quarter led them to the win. 

For Newport it was the duo of Christian Forsythe and Aaron Fellows who had 24 points each. Forsythe made his impact from deep with four threes on the night. The Tigers picked up their first win of the season and now sit at 1-1.

The Wildcats were led by Luke St. Pierre who had 23 points. Ledger Willett also contributed 18. The Cats moved to 0-2 on the season following the loss.

Manchester West earns road win at Plymouth

PLYMOUTH, NH – Manchester West traveled up 93 North on Tuesday, picking up a 57-42 away victory over Plymouth.

At the head of the Blue Knights charge were Brayden Mariano (18) and Max Houde (14), who combined for seven threes in the win. Tevin Edmunds also added 12 points, including six from the charity stripe.

The Bobcats’ box score consisted of two scorers in double-figures, Turner Oldenberg (13) and Lukas Legacy (12).

Manchester West picks up their first win of the year, improving to 1-1 , Plymouth drops to 0-2.

Epping downs Portsmouth Christian in D-IV battle

EPPING, NH – In a Division IV matchup between two 1-1 teams, host Epping hung on for a tight 54-51 win against visiting Portsmouth Christian on Wednesday night.

Blake Snyder (22) and Henry Hogkins (20) combined for 42 of the Blue Devils’ 56 points in the victory.

The Eagles were paced by Cai Summers who tallied 13 points. Truman Smith also scored in double-figures adding 10 of his own.

Epping adds their second win, bring their record to 2-1 while PCA falls to 1-2.

Saint Thomas eases past Somersworth

SOMERSWORTH, NH – St.Thomas continues its hot start to the season picking up a win against Somersworth on Tuesday night, 60-20. 

The Saints started with a 14-3 run in the first quarter and never looked back.

For Saint Thomas, it was a balanced attack led by Grant Baker and Anthony Settineri who each had 11. STA moves to 2-0 on the season with the win. 

Cam Brown led the way for Somersworth with seven points as the Hilltoppers fall to 0-2 on the season with the loss.

Prospect Mountain downs Raymond for third-straight win

RAYMOND, NH – Prospect Mountain used a 22-point third quarter to roll to its third-straight victory of the season, a 56-27 win at Raymond on Tuesday night.

Madelyn Howlett pumped in a game-high 18 points to pace the Timberwolves, while teammate Ava Foster added 11. Mollee Messenger netted 16 for the Rams, who fall to 1-2 on the season in defeat.
