Pelham plows past Plymouth, advances to quarters

Third-seeded Pelham cruised to a 69-17 victory over #14 Plymouth in Division II first round action on Wednesday night. 

The Pythons advance to take on #6 Milford on Saturday at 7:00 pm.

Jazmine Becotte poured in a game-high 28 points for Pelham, while nine other Pythons scored in the game as well.

Laconia survives Pelham in D-II showdown

Two of the top teams in Division II locked horns on Monday night and Laconia (14-1) hung on to earn a hard-fought 57-56 over visiting Pelham (14-3).

The Sachems took a nine-point lead to the break, 35-26, but the Pythons responded with an 18-point third quarter to cut the lead to one. Laconia held on in the final stanza to come away with the win.

Kayden Roberts led all scorers with a game-high 26 points for the Sachems, while Keaton Beck (12) and Carson Tucker (11) both added double digits.

Pelham was paced by 24 points from Dom Herrling and 19 from Zach James.

Pelham wins D-II showdown at Coe-Brown

In a battle of two one-loss teams in Division II, the Pelham Pythons went on the road and earned a tough 61-54 victory at Coe-Brown on Wednesday night in Northwood.

It started off as a back-and-forth affair in the first quarter of play that left both teams tied at 17-17. Pelham narrowly won each of the final three quarters of action to come away with the victory.

Dom Herrling led all scorers with 21 points for the Pythons, while teammate Jake Cawthron chipped in with 14 of his own. Connor Bagnell scored a team-high 20 points, including eight in the first quarter, before being held to just one field goal the rest of the way for the Bears. Hugh Hamilton added 16 points.

With the win, Pelham improves to 8-1,, while Coe-Brown had its four-game win streak snapped, falling to 5-2.

ConVal pulls away in 4th to advance to D-II title game

Third-seeded ConVal knocked off #2 Pelham, 58-47, on Tuesday night in semifinal action of the NHIAA Division II Boys Basketball State Tournament at Oyster River High School in Durham. The Cougars advance to the D-II championship game where they will take on #1 Souhegan on Sunday at the University of New Hampshire at 1:00 pm. 

ConVal was led by 21 points from Jake McGlinchey, while the Pythons were packed by 21 from Austin Knight. Check out the highlights from the action…
