Rams rally late to defeat Belmont

Raymond outscored Belmont 20-3 in the fourth quarter to earn a 46-37 come-from-behind victory over visiting Belmont on Thursday night.

The Rams trailed by six entering the final frame, but held the Red Raiders without a field goal over the final eight minutes to come away with the win.

Dre Duffaut led all scorers with a game-high 24 points for the Rams, including 14 in the 4th. The Red Raiders were paced by 15 points from Anakin Underhill.

With the victory, Raymond improves to 2-2, while Belmont falls to 2-2.

Hopkinton boys survive scare from Raymond

Coming off a thrilling win at the buzzer on opening night, the Raymond boys nearly knocked off Hopkinton on Tuesday night. The Hawks came away with a 47-44 victory to even their record at 1-1 on the season.

Hopkinton was paced by 11 points from Noah Aframe and 10 from Kristof Cunley. The Rams, who fall to 1-1 on the season, were led by Dre Duffaut with a game-high 22, 16 coming in the 1st half, and Aidan York with 11.

Raymond beats Prospect at the buzzer

ALTON – Raymond’s Jacobi Cumberbatch connected on a three-pointer to beat the buzzer and give the Rams a 50-47 victory at Prospect Mountain in the season-opener for both squads on Friday night.

The game-winner was the only basket of the game for Cumberbatch. Dre Duffaut led all scorers with a game-high 21 points for Raymond, TJ Locke (12 points) and Joseph Deane (10) paced Prospect.

Rams beat Blue Devils at the buzzer

Cohen Claytor’s three-pointer as time expired gave Raymond a dramatic come-from-behind 57-54 victory over visiting Epping on Wednesday night.

The Rams were led by the Claytor brothers who each netted five threes en route to 17 points for Cohen and 15 for Caden. Dylan Cummings paced the Blue Devils with a game-high 18 points, while Jacob Purrington (12) and Brady Dwyer (10) both netted double-figures as well.

The first half was a battle as the Rams took a one-point edge, 30-29, to the locker room. The Blue Devils owned the third quarter and took a 47-39 lead to the final stanza, which belonged to the Rams. Raymond buckled down on defense in the fourth, holding Epping to just one field goal, and outscored the Blue Devils 18-7 to come away with the win.

The Rams improve to 3-9 on the season, while Epping falls to 4-9.
