Bedford’s second-half surge buries Central

The defending champion Bedford Bulldogs began their title defense with an 85-59 win at Manchester Central on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs came out the gates on a 13-0 run, however, they led by just four after one quarter and by six at the half. Bedford opened things up in the second half as they outscored Central 45-25 to cruise to the 26-point victory.

The Bulldogs were led by Luke Soden’s game-high 20 points, while Brady O’Connell (19) and Connor O’Rourke (16) also netted double-digits. Izaya Diaz led the Little Green with nine points.

Plymouth downs Brady in back-and-forth overtime affair

It was a game of ups and downs for both squads as the Plymouth girls erased a nine-point halftime deficit to come-from-behind and defeat visiting Bishop Brady, 51-49, in overtime on Tuesday night.

The Bobcats led by three after the opening stanza, but then trailed by nine at the break. Plymouth came out firing in the second half and used an 11-0 run to take a two-point lead midway through the third, but later trailed by three at the end of three.

Kiara Brown’s three-point play with 12 seconds left in regulation gave Plymouth a two-point lead, but Bishop Brady scored at the buzzer to force overtime. The Bobcats netted the only points of the extra stanza to come away with the victory.

The Bobcats were led by a game-high 18 points from Kiara Brown and 15 points from Kayley Merrifield. The Giants were paced by Payton Bryson (18 points) and Mia Wagner (16).

Tigers race past Blue Devils

The varsity boys trailed 11-8 after the first quarter before outscoring Epping 41-16 over the next two quarters to blow the game open and come away with a 58-38 victory over visiting Epping on Tuesday night.

Demery Hadges led all scorers with 13 points for the Tigers, while Shawn Murphy added 12. Epping was paced by 12 points from Henry Hodgkins and 11 from Blake Snyder.

Farmington improves to 3-1 on the season, while Epping falls to 1-3.

Farmington defense denies Epping

The Farmington girls held Epping scoreless for the first 10 minutes of action en route to an impressive defensive performance and a 38-26 victory over visiting Epping on Tuesday night in The Jungle.

The Tigers were led by nine points apiece from Anna Cardinal and Madi Ricker, while Ryleigh Hogan (8) and Jaelyn Prosper (7) contributed to the scoring.

Epping was paced by a game-high 12 points from Mae McAniff.

Farmington improves to 4-0 on the season, while the Blue Devils fall to 3-1.
