Dewitt drops 30 as Alvirne hangs on to defeat Goffstown

GOFFSTOWN, NH – Sammy Dewitt poured in 30 points, all in the first half, as Alvirne held on for a 51-49 victory at Goffstown on Monday night.

Dewitt connected on five threes in the 1st quarter and two more in the 2nd, en route to 30 points through 16 minutes of action. The senior was held in scoreless in the 2nd half and the Grizzlies mounted their come back.

Goffstown trailed 40-23 at the break, but allowed just 11 second half points, including three in the 4th quarter.

Deely also netted double-digits for Alvirne with 12 of his own. Goffstown was paced by 17 points from G Santos with five threes of his own.

With the win, the Broncos improve to 2-0 on the young season, while the Grizzlies fall to 0-2.

Kearsarge powers past Prospect Mountain

ALTON, NH – Kearsarge poured in 22 points in the first quarter and never looked back at Prospect Mountain, 60-42, on Monday night.

Kearsarge pushed the tempo from the opening tip and showed why they look to be one of the top teas in Division III. The Cougars took a commanding 39-19 lead to the locker room and cruised to the 18-point win.

Kearsarge was led by 15 points from Noah Whipple and 13 from Austin Needham. Leading the way for the Timberwolves was Jacob Luscomb with 17 points, while Shaun McAneney added 10.

With the win, the Cougars improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Prospect falls to 0-2.

Prospect Mountain survives late surge by Kearsarge

ALTON, NH – Prospect Mountain was held scoreless in the 4th quarter, but hung on for a 32-28 victory over visiting Kearsarge on Monday night.

The Timberwolves trailed 11-8 after the first frame of action, but limited the Cougars to three points in the 2nd quarter to take a 19-14 lead to the break. PMHS had a comfortable 32-21 lead heading into the final stanza, but was outscored 7-0 in the 4th and hung on for the win.

Madilyn Howlett paced Prospect with 13 points, while Kearsarge was led by a game-high 14 points from Ava Shapiro.

With the win, the Timberwolves improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Cougars fall to 0-2.

Saint Anselm comes up just short versus Felician

MANCHESTER, NH – Saint Anselm came up just short versus Felician, 75-73, on Saturday afternoon at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

Josh Morissette (Exeter) led all scorers with a game-high 21 points, while Zac Taylor (18) and Erik Oliver-Bush (10) added double-digits as well for the Hawks.

With the loss, St. A’s falls to 6-4 overall, 3-2 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

Plymouth puts the clamps on ConVal

PLYMOUTH, NH – Plymouth allowed just five first-half points en route to a 44-23 victory over visiting ConVal on Friday night in the season opener for both squads.

The Bobcats were led by 17 points from Ella Duchette and 10 points apiece from Eva Marshall and Lilly Palombo. The Cougars were paced by 13 from Olivia Healy.

Defense leads St. Thomas past Winnisquam

DOVER, NH – St. Thomas held visiting Winnisquam to just 15 points through three quarters and cruised to a 57-26 win on Friday night in the season opener for both squads.

The Saints were led by Cole McClure (17 points) and Anthony Settineri (16), while the Bears were paced by 7 points from Dio Katsigiannis.

Keene survives Merrimack in double-overtime

KEENE, NH – It was an instant classic in Keene on Friday night as the host Blackbirds came away with a gritty 72-68 double-overtime victory over visiting Merrimack in Division I action.

Will Fontaine led all scorers with a game-high 24 points for Keene, while teammate Javon Massiah added 17, capped off by a massive three-pointer to with 13.9 seconds left on the clock to force double OT.

It was a back-and-forth affair all night as Keene led 10-2 after one quarter of play and later 29-20 at the half. The Tomahawks showed plenty grit of their own as they battled back from a 10-point deficit entering the 4th quarter and forced the first extra frame.

Merrimack was led by 17 points and five triples from Mikey Flerra. Noah Morrison (13 points), Ryan Elliot (12) and Henry Tobin (10) also added double-digits for the Tomahawks.

Raymond grinds out win over Conant

RAYMOND, NH – Raymond opened the 2024-25 season with a hard-fought 42-34 victory over visiting Conant on Friday night.

The two teams were tied at the half, 21-21, before the Rams held the Orioles to just five third-quarter points and took a 33-26 lead to the final frame. And that proved to be all they would need as Raymond hung on for an eight-point win.

Dre Duffaut led the Rams with 12 points, while the Orioles were paced by 10 points from Dylan Adams.
