Top-seeded Pembroke handles No. 9 Bow in quarterfinal play

PEMBROKE, NH – Top-seeded Pembroke punched its ticket to the final four with a 74-60 win over No. 9 Bow on Friday night in Division II quarterfinal action.

Devin Riel led the way for the home side, dropping a team-high 22 points, including five from beyond the arc. Running-mate Evan Berkeley added 21 of his own to the box score for the Spartans.

Jake Reardon paced the scoring for the Falcons with 21 points and Brendan O’Keefe added 17.

Pembroke will take on No. 4 Pelham in semifinal action on Monday, March 10th at Rochester Recreation Center.

Bow finishes its season with a 13-7 record.

Sanborn comes-from-behind to advance to semifinals

KINGSTON, N.H – No. 3 Sanborn overcame a six-point halftime deficit to defeat No. 6 Hollis-Brookline 73-55 on Friday night in Division II quarterfinal action.

The Cavaliers would lead 38-32 at the half, but Sanborn’s stars Dylan Rego and Chase Frizzell would combine for 30 points in the second half to secure the win.

Rego would finish with a game-high 28 points, including 19 in the second half, while Frizzell added 25.

Alton Williams finished with 22 points for the Cavaliers with running-mate Dylan Kelley adding 14 of his own.

Sanborn will take on No. 7 Oyster River in semifinal action at Rochester Recreation Center on Monday, March 10th at 5:30 PM.

Hollis-Brookline finishes its season with a 14-5 record.

Pelham downs Coe-Brown in semifinal overtime thriller

PELHAM, NH – No. 4 Pelham needed overtime to dispatch No. 5 Coe-Brown in a Division II quarterfinal on Friday night.

The Pythons advance to the semifinals and will face top-seeded Pembroke on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Rochester Recreation Center.

Pelham came out firing as they netted 23 first-quarter points and held a 23-18 lead after one. The two squads played even in the second quarter as the Pythons led 30-25 at the break.

The third quarter belonged to Coe-Brown as the Bears erased the five-point deficit to lead 45-42 heading to the fourth quarter. Pelham would go on to tie the game and force overtime at 55-55.

In the extra session, both teams were limited to just one field goal apiece, but the difference came at the charity stripe. Coe-Brown went 3-for-6 from the line, while Pelham was 9-for-12, including a perfect 6-for-6 from Justin Bowlan.

Pelham was led by Luke Estell’s game-high 19 points, including three triples. Brady Hegan and Shawn Bodenrader netted 18 and 11 points, respectively. The Bears were paced by 18 points from Matt Flanagan, 14 from Jack Matson and 11 from James McKane.

Bedford blows past Exeter to Division I semifinals

BEDFORD, NH – Top-seeded Bedford raced out to a 47-22 lead at the half and never looked back as the Bulldogs downed No. 9 Exeter, 85-39, in quarterfinal action of the Division I state tourney on Thursday night.

Led by a game-high 23 points from Kate Allard, Bedford put eight players in the scoring column. Annie Zink (17), Mel McCarthy (16) and Sara Muir (13) all netted double-digits for the Bulldogs as well.

The Blue Hawks were led by 10 points from Karli Scherpf.

Bedford advances to the semifinals to take on No. 4 Concord Christian Academy on Monday at Exeter High School at 8:00 p.m.

Londonderry closes out Salem to advance to semis

LONDONDERRY, NH – Clinging to a three-point lead heading to the fourth quarter, No. 2 Londonderry outscored No. 7 Salem 14-3 in the final frame to come away with a 55-41 Division I quarterfinal victory on Thursday night.

The Lancers were led by a game-high 23 points from Sammie Sullivan with Brooke Eacrett adding 13 points. The Blue Devils were paced by 16 points from Lindsay Goetz.

Londonderry advances to the semifinals to take on No. 3 Windham on Monday at Exeter High School at 6:00 p.m.

CCA downs BG in quarterfinals for 12th-straight postseason win

CONCORD, NH. – No. 4 Concord Christian Academy pushed its post-season win streak to 12 as the Kingsmen avenged a two-point, season-opening loss to No. 5 Bishop Guertin with a 48-33 victory in Division I quarterfinal action on Thursday night.

Host CCA put the clamps on the Cardinals, allowing just four first-quarter points and only 11 in the first half to take control of the quarterfinal. BG would win the third quarter 10-9, before the Kingsmen closed things out with an 18-12 fourth quarter for the win.

Concord Christian was led by a game-high 18 points from Emma Smith with Lilli Carlisle adding 17. Bishop Guertin was paced by nine points from Thalia Drapeau.

CCA, winners of three-straight state titles (D-IV in 2022, D-III in 2023 and D-II in 2024), faces undefeated, top seed Bedford in semifinal action at Exeter High School on Monday at 8:00 p.m.

Windham outlasts Pinkerton, advances to D-I semis

WINDHAM, NH – No. 3 Windham hung on late to defeat No. 6 Pinkerton in quarterfinal action of the Division I state tournament on Thursday night.

Windham advances to the semifinals and will take on No. 2 Londonderry on Monday at Exeter High School at 6:00 pm.

Avery Steffanides led the Jaguars with 12 points. The Astros were paced by Kaylee Dupuis with a game-high 13 points, while Brooke Benz and Sydney Gerossie netted 11 points apiece.

Portsmouth overcomes slow start to down Salem in D-I first round

PORTSMOUTH, NH – Freshman Damien Sanu unloaded a season-high 25 points to help No. 2 Portsmouth down No. 15 Salem 74-60 on Wednesday night in Division I first-round action.

The Clippers stumbled out the gates, trailing 16-8 after the first quarter.

Sanu, Isaiah Reis and Finn McCauley would combine to score 19 of 21 of the Clippers’ second-quarter points to right the ship and allow the hosts to take a 29-28 lead into half.

The third quarter would belong to Anthony Ferola who scored 11 of his 14 points in the eight-minute period.

All five starters would finish in double-figures for Portsmouth, with Reis adding 13 while Derek Swartz and McCauley added 10 apiece. The Clippers were playing without Ryan Swartz.

Brock James poured in a game-high 29 points, while Carlos Cruz added 12 for the Blue Devils.

Portsmouth will host No. 10 Manchester Memorial in quarterfinal action on Saturday.

Salem finishes its season with a 7-12 record.

Trinity closes out Winnacunnet, advances to D-I quarters

MANCHESTER, NH – No. 3 Trinity overcame a first-half deficit to down No. 14 Winnacunnet 60-48 in Division I first round action on Wednesday night.

The Warriors led by five after the first and by one point at the half before the Pioneers showcased an offensive display in the second half.

Trinity would get scoring from five different players in the third, including three from beyond the arc as part of their 17-point quarter.

Shawn O’Neil paced the scoring for the Pioneers with 16 points, while Jordan Torres added 15 and Collin Charbenneau added 13 to round out the double-digit scoring.

Christian Chartier scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Warriors, while Kash Bailey added 12 to the box score.

Trinity will play host to No. 6 Keene in second round action on Saturday.

Winnacunnet ends its season with a 7-12 record.

No. 10 Coe-Brown upsets No. 7 Bow in D-II first round

BOW, NH – No. 10 Coe-Brown used an explosive second half to upset No. 7 Bow 54-46 in first round Division II action Wednesday night.

The Falcons would carry a 23-22 lead going into half, but the Bears would come alive in second half, outscoring Bow 32-23.

Hannah Meehan led the charge, scoring all 12 of her team-high points in the second half, while Madison Taylor added 11.

Peyton Vaughn paced the scoring for Bow with a game-high 18, Bryana Szepan added 14 to round out the double-digit scoring.

Coe-Brown will take on No. 2 Milford in quarterfinal action on Saturday. Bow ends its season with a 13-6 record.
