Spartans handle Knights

Playing at the Milford Middle School due to voting at the high school didn’t slow down the host Spartans on Tuesday night. Milford blanked visiting Kingswood, 20-0, in the first quarter and cruised to a 59-19.

The Spartans were led by a game-high 17 points from Ellianna Nassy and 16 from Avery Fuller. The Knights were paced by nine points from Caelynn Blatenberger.

With the win, Milford snaps a four-game skid and improves to 5-4, while Kingswood falls to 0-10.

Strong second-half leads Trinity past Merrimack

Trinity trailed by two at the half, before outscoring host Merrimack by 16 in the second half to roll to a 66-52 victory on Tuesday night.

The Pioneers were led by 14 points from Kevin Doherty, 13 from Evan Dunker and 11 apiece from Devohn Ellis and Shawn O’Neill. The Tomahawks were paced by a game-high 27 points from Jenson Monroe.

With the win, Trinity improves to 7-3 on the season, while Merrimack falls to 4-6.

Derryfield downs Sanborn, extends win streak to seven

Derryfield led by seven at the half and hung on for a 39-34 won over visiting Sanborn on Tuesday night.

The Cougars were led by a game-high 18 points, including three three-pointers in the first half, by freshman Bre McCabe.

With the win, Derryfield improves to 7-1 on the season, while Sanborn falls to 1-8. Next up, the Cougars takes on 7-2 Oyster River on Thursday looking to continue their streak.

D-III St. Thomas hands D-IV Derryfield first loss

Cole McClure poured in a game-high 26 points, including six three-pointers, to lead Division III St. Thomas to a 62-48 victory over D-IV Derryfield on Monday night in Manchester.

The Saints racked up 23 first-quarter points to jump out to an early nine-point lead after one and never looked back.

James Allen (15) and Will Molica (10) both added double-digits for STA as well. Derryfield was led by 12 points from Alex Comire and 10 from Jack Krasnof.

With the win, St. Thomas improves to 11-1 on the season, while the Cougars fall to 10-1.

Hoskins shoots Littleton past Gorham

Coming off their first loss of the season, the Littleton boys rebounded with a big 74-55 victory over visiting Gorham on Tuesday night.

The Huskies started strong, leading by two after one quarter of play, 14-12. But the Crusaders dominated the middle quarters, 43-26, to take a commanding 55-40 lead to the 4th and roll to the victory.

Littleton was paced by 32 points, including seven three pointers, from Kayden Hoskins. Mikey Rodriguez added 19 points and three triples of his own and Dre Akines chipped in with 10.

Gorham got 22 points from Isaac Langlois, 13 from Max Grondin and 12 from Jack Saladino.

With the win, the Crusaders improve to 11-1 on the season, while the Huskies fall to 7-6.

Trinity rolls past Merrimack

In a meeting between two winless Division I teams, the Trinity girls rolled to a 45-28 victory over visiting Merrimack on Tuesday night.

The Pioneers were led by 12 points from Sadie Mungerel, while the Tomahawks were paced by 12 from Avary Cruz and 10 from Mia Getchel.

With the win, Trinity improves to 1-9 on the season, while Merrimack falls to 0-9.

Pelham advances to 7-1 with victory at Plymouth

Pelham outscored Plymouth 23-7 in the 1st quarter and  held on to the lead throughout the game, securing a 65-47 win on the road on Monday night.

The Pythons were led by Zach James with 18 points, while Peter Hemmerdinger added 15, and Logan Dumont 13. Tevin Stone led Plymouth with 11 points.

With the win, the Pythons improve to 7-1, 2nd in Division II, as the Bobcats fall to 5-4 on the season.

Raymond rolls past Somersworth

Dre Duffaut pumped in a game-high 32 points in three quarters to pace Raymond to an 84-36 victory over visiting Somersworth on Monday night.

Caden Claytor also added 12 points for the Rams. The Hilltoppers were led by 13 points from Frankie Paradiso-Collins.

With the win, Raymond improves to 6-4 on the season and moves into a tie for 6th in the Division III standings, while Somersworth falls to 1-8.

Gorham beats the buzzer to knock off Groveton

Jack Saladino connected on a three-pointer as time expired to give Gorham a 49-46 victory over visiting Groveton on Monday night.

The Eagles came out the gates firing as they poured in 21 1st-quarter points and led by nine. The Huskies settled in and clawed their way back, cutting the Groveton lead to five at the break.

A 16-6 3rd quarter put the home Huskies up 42-37 entering the final frame. Groveton came back to tie the game at 46-46, setting up Saladino’s final heroics.

Saladino led Groveton with 12 ponts, while Isaac Langlois added 11. Ashton Tennis was the game’s leading scorer with 13 for Groveton and Kade Cloutier and Dylan Simino each netted 10 points apiece.

With the win, Gorham improves to 7-5. Grove has now dropped three-straight to fall to 6-6.

D-IV Profile goes on the road, cruises past D-III Campbell

The Profile boys went up a division and put another notch in their belt as the D-IV Patriots cruised past D-III Campbell, 67-48, on Monday night.

Profile jumped out to a 19-8 lead after one quarter of play and took a 14-point lead to the break. Campbell would win the 3rd quarter by three points, but the Patriots salted things away in the 4th as they pumped in 22 points.

Alex Leslie paced Profile with 21 points, while Josh Robie (19), Cayden Wakeham (12) and Karsen Robie (11) also chipped in with double digits. The Cougars were led by 14 points from Tucker Matthews and 12 from Austin McHugh.

The Patriots remain perfect as they improve to 12-0 on the season, while Campbell, who entered the game in sixth place in D-III, fall to 7-5.
