Unbeaten Woodsville stops Gorham, moves on to D-IV final

LACONIA, NH – Top-seeded Woodsville remained perfect on the season as the Engineers defeated No. 5 Gorham, 43-27, in semifinal action of the NHIAA Division IV state tournament on Monday night at Laconia High School.

Woodsville advances to the title game to take on No. 3 Littleton on Saturday at Colby-Sawyer College in New London at 3:00 p.m.

The Engineer defense was stifling in the first half as they held the Huskies to just two points in the opening quarter and only nine for the half. Woodsville took a 20-9 lead to the locker room and it proved to be too much for Gorham to overcome.

Ryan Walker poured in a game-high 17 points for the Engineers, but the junior rolled his ankle with under 90 seconds left in the ball game. Walker hobbled to the sideline before head to the locker room early and did not return. His status is uncertain.

Landon Kingsbury (11 points) and Cowan Kimball (10) both netted double-digits as well for Woodsville.

Gorham was led by nine points from Isaac Langlois.

Gorham upsets Newmarket to advance to D-IV semis

NEWMARKET, NH – No. 5 Gorham went on the road and knocked off No. 4 Newmarket, 39-35, in Division IV quarterfinal action on Thursday night.

The two teams started off cold, with Gorham holding onto a 16-13 lead going into the half.

The Huskies kept a tight lead in the second half, outscoring the Mules 23-22 to pick up the win.

Gorham will play No. 1 Woodsville in semifinal action at 7:30 PM Monday at Laconia High School.

Newmarket’s season comes to a close with a 15-5 record.

Gorham cruises to quarterfinals past Mascenic

GORHAM, NH – No. 5 Gorham scored 20+ points in the first and third quarters to down No. 12 Mascenic 62-42 in Division IV first round play on Monday night.

The Huskies started hot, scoring 21 in the first quarter. After going into the half with a 28-20 advantage, Gorham would score 23 in the third to put away the visiting Vikings. 

Isaac Langlois tallied 22 points to lead the way for the home side, including 11 in the third. Jack Saladino added 11 of his own. 

Lucas Leroux scored 14 points to pace the scoring for the visitors, with Chuck Phillips adding 11. 

No. 5 Gorham will travel to No. 4 Newmarket in quarterfinal play on Thursday night, while Mascenic finishes their season with a 9-10 record.

Gorham wins seventh straight, downs Profile in OT

BETHLEHEM, NH – Gorham scored just 11 first-half points and trailed by eight at the half before mounting a comeback to force overtime and come away with a 49-48 victory at Profile on Monday night.

Isaac Langlois led all scorers with 18 points for the Huskies, including four second-half three-pointers. Max Grondin added 15 points of his own.

Cayden Wakeham paced the Patriots with 12 points and Jackson Clough added 10.

With the win, Gorham closes out its regular-season with a 12-6 record. Profile finishes 6-12.

Second-quarter surge sends Lin-Wood past Gorham

LINCOLN, NH – A 17-point second quarter propelled Lin-Wood past Gorham, 34-22, on Friday night. 

Kiley Clermont poured in a game-high 20 points for the Lumberjacks, while Lily Gorban led all Huskies scorers with six. 

Lin-Wood improves to 5-11, while Gorham drops to 5-12.

Gorham downs Lin-Wood, wins sixth straight

LINCOLN, NH – Gorham continues push for a home playoff game with a 55-46 win over Lin-Wood on Friday night

On the Huskies side, Isaac Langlois led the with 20 points, while runningmate 

Max Grondin scored 17 of his own. 

For the Lumberjacks, Colton Sothard tallied a season-high 13 points, with Mason Clark adding 12 of his own. 

With it sixth-straight win, Gorham improves to 11-6 on the season, while Lin-Wood finishes its regular-season at 7-10.

Gorham puts the clamps on Pittsburg-Canaan

GORHAM, NH – Gorham allowed just 12 second-half points to defeat visiting Pittsburg-Canaan, 63-34, on Wednesday night.

The Huskies led 30-22 at the half, but then ratcheting things up on the defense end to win the second half 33-12 and cruise to the win.

Gorham was led by 19 points from Max Grondin, 15 from Isaac Langlois and 14 from Jack Saladino. The Yellow Jackets were paced by 17 points from Daemon Jaimes and 11 by Joe Cristoforo.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 10-6. PC drops to 7-9.

Pittsburg-Canaan cruises past Gorham

GORHAM, NH – Pittsburg-Canaan went on the road and eased past Gorham, 49-29, on Wednesday night.

Alyvia Jaimes led the Yellow Jackets with 15 points and Paige Robinson added 13.

Chaise Wade netted 10 points for the Huskies.

With the win, PC improves to 9-6 on the season, while Gorham falls to 5-11.

Gorham outlasts Lin-Wood in overtime

GORHAM, NH – Gorham came away victorious in an overtime thriller against Lin-Wood on Friday night, 59-53.

The Huskies were down 11 going into the half but played tremendous defense in the fourth quarter, holding Lin-Wood to just three points to tie the game at the end of regulation.

Jack Saladino paced Gorham with 15 points, while Isaac Langlois added 14 and Mason Roberge had 13. With the win, Gorham moves to 9-6 on the year.

Lin-Wood was led by Liam Manning’s game-high 21 points and Mason Clark added 16 points. The loss puts them at 6-8 for the season.
