St. Thomas downs White Mountains, cruises to semis

Top-seeded St. Thomas cruised to a 56-27 victory over #9 White Mountains on Saturday night to advance to the semifinal round of the NHIAA Division III Girls Basketball State Tournament.

The Saints will take on #4 Kearsarge on Wednesday, February 21 at Bow High School at 7:30 pm.

Marshall nets 45, paces Pinkerton past Trinity

Jackson Marshall poured in 45 points to pace Pinkerton to a 20-point win at Trinity, 81-61, on Friday night in Manchester.

The Astros jumped out to a 13-2 lead and never looked back. With the win, Pinkerton improves to 15-1 and remains tied atop the D-I standings with Bedford. Trinity falls to 11-5 and is fourth in the standings.

Dexter drops 36, leads Pembroke past Milford

Behind a game-high 36 points from Annelise Dexter, Pembroke improved to 15-1 on the season with a 56-44 victory over visiting Milford on Friday night.

With the win, PA is now tied atop the Division II standings with Concord Christian, while Milford falls to 8-9 on the season.

Leading the way for Milford was Ellianna Nassy with 13 and Claire Cote and Shea Hansen both netted 11 points apiece.

Strong third quarter leads Kearsarge past Hopkinton

Fourth-seeded Kearsarge poured in 22 points in the third quarter to come away with a five-point win over #5 Hopkinton, 40-35, in quarterfinal action of the NHIAA Division III State Tournament.

The Cougars advance to the semifinals where they will take on top-seeded Conant on Tuesday. The site is still to be determined.

Noah Whipple and Ajay Tremblay led Kearsarge with 9 points apiece, while Abram Standefer (12) and Vincent Louca (11) both netted double-digits for the Hawks.

First half fuels Londonderry past Spaulding

Londonderry outscored Spaulding 34-19 in the first half to roll to a 66-49 victory in Rochester on Friday night.

Leading the way for the Lancers was Mason Paquette with 18 points and Ryan Williams with 15. The Red Raiders were paced by 16 points from Marcel Rose and 10 from Kyran Jean Pierre.

With the win, Londonderry evens its record at 8-8, while Spaulding falls to 5-11.

Mascoma Valley advances to semis on buzzer beater

A deep three by Brayden Pierce beat the buzzer and gave #3 Mascoma Valley a 62-59 overtime victory over #6 White Mountains on Friday night in quarterfinal action of the NHIAA Division III State Tournament.

The Royals advance to the semifinals where they will take on #2 St. Thomas on Tuesday. The site is still to be determined.

Pierce led all scorers with a game-high 23 points for Mascoma, while James Thomas added 12. The Spartans were led by a trio of double-digit scorers: Avery Woodburn (21), Aiden Whipple (17) and Kasen Smith 12.

Londonderry cruises past Goffstown

Third ranked Londonderry held #5 Goffstown to just 12 first-half points and rolled to a 54-34 win on Friday night.

Sammie Sullivan (23) and Brooke Eacrett (19) combined for 42 of the Lancers 54 points, while the Grizzlies were led by 20 from Maggie Sasso.

With the win, Londonderry improves to 14-2 on the season, while Goffstown falls to 12-4.

Top-seeded Conant dethrones Gilford

There will be a new champion in Division III. Four-time defending champion Gilford, the #9 seed, lost a low-scoring affair, 39-32, to top seeded Conant on Friday night in quarterfinal action of the NHIAA state tournament.

Conant advances to the semifinals and will take on #4 Kearsarge on Tuesday. The site is still to be determined.

The host Orioles held the Golden Eagles to just seven points in three different quarters to come away with the victory. Conant was led by 13 points from Manny Hodgson and 11 from Ben Sawyer, while Gilford was paced by a game-high 17 from Cooper Perkins.

Third-quarter surge sends St. Thomas to D-III semis

Second-seeded St. Thomas used a 24-point third quarter to defeat #7 Belmont, 67-50, on Friday night in quarterfinal action of the NHIAA Division III State Tournament.

With the win, St. Thomas advances to the semifinals where they will take on #3 Mascoma Valley on Tuesday. The site is still to be determined.

The host Saints trailed by three after one quarter of play and later led by one at the half, prior to the 3rd-quarter onslaught. St. Thomas buried four triples in the third to win the quarter by 15 points and blow the game open.

The Saints were paced by a game-high 22 points from freshman Cole McClure, while Will Mollica and James Allen added 17 and 16 points, respectively. The Red Raiders were led by 20 points from Anakin Underhill, including 5 threes, and 13 from Keegan Martinez.
