Campbell earns come-from-behind win over Conant

The 5-2 Campbell Cougars and the 5-2 Conant Orioles met up on Monday night and the Cougars earned a come-from-behind 44-35 victory over the visiting Orioles.

It was somewhat of a slugfest in Litchfield as both teams combined for just 10 first quarter points and Campbell took a 21-18 lead at the half. Conant later took a one-point lead to the fourth quarter, 30-29, but the final stanza belonged to the host Orioles as they came back to secure the victory.

J Breton pumped in eight points, including two threes, to close out the win for Conant as they held Campbell to just six fourth-quarter points.

The Cougars were paced by a trio of double-figure scorers in Jack Breton (14), Austin McHugh (10) and Jayshawn Hawkins (10), while the Orioles were led by Jared Nagle’s 10 points.

Concord Christian survives at PCA, improves to 6-0

The Concord Christian boys improved to a perfect 6-0 on the season as they went on the road and came away with a hard-fought 75-70 victory over Portsmouth Christian on Monday night in Dover. 

The Kingsmen came out firing as they poured in 24 points in the opening quarter to take a 24-12 lead after one. The second quarter belonged to freshman Cai Summers as he was unconscious with 19 points, including five threes, and the Eagles took a 39-35 lead to the break.

CCA pumped in 20 points in the 3rd and 4th quarters to come-from-behind for the win. 

The Kingsmen were led by 31 points from Brode Frink and and 25 from Ethan Young. The Eagles, who fall to 3-5 on the season, were paced by 27 from Summers and 21 from Connor Hickey.

Alvirne gets first win of the season at Merrimack

After starting the season 0-5, the Alvirne boys went on the road to earn a much-needed victory at Merrimack on Friday night, 65-50. 

It was a total team effort for the Broncos as 10 players scored, led by Sam Dewitt’s game-high 15 points. The Tomahawks, who fall to 3-3 on the season, were paced by David Roy (13) and Michael Fierra (11)

Souhegan remains unbeaten, hands Laconia first loss

In a battle of the unbeatens, the Souhegan Sabers (4-0) handed the Laconia Sachems (4-1) their first loss of the season, 50-42, on Friday night in Amherst.

The Sabers were led by Matt Canavan’s 15 points, while Keaton Beck poured in a game-high 17 for the Sachems and Kayden Roberts added 12.

Woodsville hands Profile first loss

Two-time Division IV defending champion Woodsville stymied Profile’s prolific offense on Friday night to earn a pivotal 55-43 victory over the previously unbeaten Patriots. 

Cam Davidson & Landon Kingsbury netted 18 points a piece to pace the Engineers, while sharpshooter Josh Robie scored a game-high 26 points for Profile. Robie’s running mate Alex Leslie was held scoreless in the first half and managed just eight points on the evening. 

The Engineers came out revving as they poured in 21 first-quarter points and led by seven after one. Robie had four first-quarter triples and tallied all 14 of Profile’s points in the opening stanza. 

The second quarter was a rock fight between the two as a combined 10 points were scored and Woodsville took a 25-21 lead to halftime. The second half belonged to the Engineers as well and they rolled to the 12-point victory. 

Profile’s 43 point tally was their lowest on the season by 24 points.

Woodsville improves to 6-1 on the season, while the Patriots fall to 6-1.

Farmington girls down Mount Royal

The Farmington girls started slow, but pulled away late as they defeated visiting Mount Royal, 41-19, on Friday night. The Tigers were paced by 12 points apiece from Madi Ricker and Jaelyn Prosper, while Makayla Lapanne chipped in with 11.

Farmington has won four straight and improves to 6-3 on the season, while the Knights fall to 2-3, having dropped three in a row.
