Farmington survives Lin-Wood, advances to quarters

In an absolute epic battle in The Jungle, third-seeded Farmington survived and advanced with a controversial 49-48 victory over #13 Lin-Wood on Monday night.

Trailing by three in the waining moments, Lin-Wood’s Cam Clermont hit a three-pointer that would have tied the game at 49-49 with 2.5 to go, but it was ruled a two-pointer and third-seeded Farmington hung on for the win. You can re-watch the play here…

It was an unfortunate ending to what was an amazing first-round battle. Both teams would have loved to play an overtime frame.

The Tigers were paced by 21 points from Jordan Berko and 13 from Shawn Murphy. Jake Avery also had 21 for the Lumberjacks, while Clermont had 19.

Farmington moves on to take on #6 Holy Family in the quarterfinals on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
