Littleton downs Moultonborough, advances to quarterfinals

LITTLETON, NH – No. 3 Littleton drained nine threes en route to a 66-53 win over No. 14 Moultonborough in first round action of the Division IV state tournament on Monday night.

The Crusaders opened the first half up 30-19 and never looked back, leading throughout, in the win over the visiting Panthers. 

Sam Reagey paced the scoring for the home side with 21 points, while Daven Reagey added 20, including six from downtown. 

Brode Bacon poured in a game-high 23 for the visitors. 

Littleton will host No. 11 Holy Family in quarterfinal action on Thursday. 

Moultonborough ends their season at 7-12.

Pittsburg-Canaan sweeps visiting Moultonborough

PITTSBURG, NH – Pittsburg-Canaan pulled off the sweep over Moultonborough on Monday night as the Yellow Jacket girls were victorious 59-41 and the boys won 46-43.

On the girls side, Alyvia Jaimes (18 points), Sienna Grondin (13) and Janessa Hodge (12) all netted double-digits for PC, while the Panthers were led by 12 points from Alicia Johnson.

With the win, Pittsburg-Canaan improves to 8-6 on the season, while Moulborough falls to 9-6.

For the boys, a 20-points second quarter propelled the Yellow Jackets to the victory as they move to 7-8. The Panthers fall to 6-9.

Joey Cristoforo led PC with 17 points. Brodie Bacon poured in a game-high 21 points for Moultonborough.

Groveton sweeps Moultonborough

MOULTONBOROUGH, NH – Groveton earned a sweep against Moultonborough on Tuesday night. The boys came away with a 54-41 win and the girls earned a 54-24 victory.

The Eagles’ Hunter Parks tallied 20 points to lead all scorers on the boys side, with Brodie Bacon pacing Moultonborough with 14.

With the win, Groveton improves to 10-4 as Moultonborough drops to 5-8.

On the girls side, Mylee Kenison poured in a team-high 14 points for the Eagles and Delaney Whiting added 12. Alicia Johnson paced the scoring for Moultonborough with nine points.

Groveton wins its sixth straight to improve to 12-1 and Moultonborough falls to 8-5.

Langlois nets 36, leads Gorham in victory

GORHAM, NH – Division IV leading scorer Isaac Langlois notched 30+ points for the second time this year with a game-high 36 to lead the Huskies to a 59-52 win over visiting Moultonborough on Thursday night.

Langlois’ running mate Jack Saladino added 10 of his own for Gorham.

Brode Bacon dropped 20 points for the Panthers

Gorham has now won three straight and improves to 3-1, while Moultonborough falls to 2-2.

Moultonborough downs Gorham on the road

GORHAM, NH – Moultonborough picked up the win in a low scoring affair on Thursday night, 26-18, at Gorham.

Makenna Eichhorn scored game high 13 points for the Panthers, while Emma Besisle and Risa Gallant each totaled 6 points for the Huskies.

Moultonborough jumps up to 2-2 on the season, while Gorham drops to 2-3.

NHIAA preseason heats up

Just like the unseasonably warm weather, the 2024-25 NHIAA season is beginning to heat up as well.

Yesterday marked the first practice date for Division IV squads with many holding tryouts around the state. D-III follows suit next week (Nov. 25) with D-I & D-II just seven days later as well (Dec. 2).

The D-IV season official tips off with 2024-25 opening night being held on Friday, Dec. 6, while Divisions I, II & III throw it up on Dec. 13.

Before we get to the regular-season slate, however, there are six official NHIAA sanctioned preseason jamborees on the docket. Check out the events below as this will be your first chance to see these squads in action…

Littleton cruises to quarterfinals past Moultonborough

No. 2 Littleton outscored #15 Moultonborough 25-6 in the 1st quarter and cruised to a 71-36 win in first round play of the 2024 NHIAA Division IV Boys Basketball State Tournament on Monday night.

The Crusaders advance to the quarterfinals and will host #10 Groveton on Thursday.

Littleton was led four dougle-figure scorers: Kayden Hoskins (15), Dre Akines (13), Mikey Rodriguez (11) and Sam Reagey (10). The Panthers were paced by 10 points from Brodie Bacon.

Gorham gets going early, cruises past Moultonborough

Gorham jumped out to a quick 25-8 lead after the first quarter of play and cruised to a 71-48 win over visiting Moultonborough on Friday night.

The Huskies used balanced scoring in the victory as they had four double-digits scorers: Isaac Langlois (19 points), Brendan Saladino (15), Jack Saladino (15) and Max Grondin (15). The Panthers were paced by 11 points apiece from Brodie Bacon and Ethan Tilton.

With the win, Gorham improves to 5-3 on the season, while Moultonborough falls to 3-4.

Moultonborough finishes strong at Gorham

Moultonborough entered the fourth quarter down two, 20-18, but the Panthers closed out the game on a 15-8 run to come away with a 33-28 victory at Gorham on Friday night.

Alicia Johnson led Moultonborough with 11 points, while the Huskies were paced by a game-high 15 points from Madison Girouard.

With the win, the Panthers have now won three of their last four to improve to 3-4 on the season, while Gorham falls to 2-6.
