John Stark downs Milford, advances to quarters

No. 4 John Stark defeated No. 13 Milford, 61-46, in first round action of the NHIAA Division II Girls Basketball State Tournament on Wednesday night in Weare.

The Generals advance to the quarterfinals and will hit the road to take on #5 Pelham on Saturday at 7:00 pm.

John Stark was led by a game-high 26 points from Eleanor Girardet, while Avery Geaumont and Abby Duclos added 13 and 12, respectively.

Shea Hansen paced the Spartans with 17 points, including four 3-pointers. Ellianne Nassy (12) and Claire Cote (9) made significant contributions for Milford.

Coe-Brown comes from behind to close out Milford

Coe-Brown went on the road and earned a 56-51 come-from-behind victory at Milford on Wednesday night. The Bears trailed nearly the entire game before taking the lead for good with about 3 minutes left to play and held on for the win.

With the win, CBNA ends the regular season with a 10-8 mark, good for 10th in the Division II standings. Milford falls to 8-10 and three-way tie for 12th.

The Bears were led by 20 points for Meehan, while Kasprzak and Lapierre added 15 and 13, respectively. The Spartans boasted four players in double digits: Claire Cote (12), Ellianna Nassy (11), Avery Fuller (10) and Shea Hansen (10).

Dexter drops 36, leads Pembroke past Milford

Behind a game-high 36 points from Annelise Dexter, Pembroke improved to 15-1 on the season with a 56-44 victory over visiting Milford on Friday night.

With the win, PA is now tied atop the Division II standings with Concord Christian, while Milford falls to 8-9 on the season.

Leading the way for Milford was Ellianna Nassy with 13 and Claire Cote and Shea Hansen both netted 11 points apiece.

Quick start leads Concord Christian over Milford

Concord Christian wasted no time getting the ball rolling at Milford on Friday night as the Kingsmen opened the game on a 19-4 run and rolled to a 50-32 victory.

The Kingsmen were led by a game-high 23 points from Emma Smith, while Lili Carlile added 14. Pacing the Spartans was Ellianna Nassy with 10 points.

With the win, CCA remains perfect and pushed its record to 13-0 on the season. Milford falls to 7-8.

Strong second-half leads Hanover past Milford

Hanover led by just three at half, but used a strong second half to defeat Milford, 50-38, on Tuesday night.

Sydney McLaughlin led all scorers with a game-high 29 points for the Bears, while Shea Hansen (14) and Elianna Nassay (11) both scored in double-digits for the Spartans.

With the win, Hanover stretches its win streak to four games and improves to 10-4 on the season. Milford falls to 7-7.

Strong second half propels Derryfield past Milford

The Derryfield girls trailed by two at the break, but outscored visiting Milford 34-18 in the 2nd half to earn a 52-38 win on Friday night in Manchester.

Tia Ferdinando led all scorers with a game-high 23 points for the Cougars, while Shea Hansen paced the Spartans with 11.

With the win, Derryfield improves to 9-4 on the season, as Milford falls to 7-6.

Milford motors past Souhegan

Milford poured in 24 1st-quarter points and cruised to a 54-34 at Souhegan on Tuesday night.

The Spartans were paced by 17 points from Shea Hansen, 14 from Ellianna Nassy and 10 from Avery Fuller.

The Sabers were led by 11 from Mishka Tower.

With the win, Milford improves to 7-5 on the season, while Souhegan falls to 1-9.

Milford cruises past ConVal

Milford poured in 51 first-half points to cruise to a 64-22 victory over ConVal on Friday night.

The Spartans were led by 23 points from Avery Fuller, while Ellianna Nassy and Shea Hansen added 16 and 12, respectively. Brielle Proctor paced the Cougars with nine points.

With the win, Milford improves to 6-5, while ConVal falls to 0-10.
