Londonderry downs Windham, wins 6th straight

Londonderry led by just three at the half but pulled away in the second to defeat Windham, 46-33, on Tuesday evening.  

Sam Sullivan scored a game-high 17 points for the Lancers, while Kate Carboni and Meghan Husson both scored nine for the Jaguars.

Londonderry looks to continue their winning streak as they face Goffstown (11-3) on the road next.

Kearsarge downs Stevens, advances to quarters

Behind a game-high 21 points from Noah Whipple, #4 Kearsarge held off #13 Stevens, 47-41, on Tuesday night in first round action of the NHIAA Division III Boys Basketball State Tournament. More to come…

The Cougars advance to the quarterfinal round where they will host #5 Hopkinton on Friday.

The two teams were evenly matched in the first half as the game was knotted at 16-16 at the break. Kearsarge outscored the Cardinals 16-10 in the 3rd quarter and that ended up being the difference.

Drew Huff also added 12 points for the Cougars, while Stevens was led by a trio of double-digit scorers: Jacob Davis (14), Devante Thompson (12) and Mason Ferland.

With the loss, the Cardinals season comes to an end with a 7-10 mark.

White Mountains cruises past Raymond in 1st round

Kasen Smith poured in 6 threes, including four in the first quarter, en route to 20 points as he led #6 White Mountains past #11 Raymond, 68-47, on Tuesday night in first round action of the NHIAA Division III Boys Basketball State Tournament.

The Spartans advance to the quarterfinal round where they will take on #3 Mascoma Valley on Friday.

Trevor Armstrong (12), Avery Woodburn (10) and Aiden Whipple (10) all netted double-digits as well for White Mountains. The Rams were paced led by 18 points from Caden Claytor and 14 from Dre Duffaut.

Raymond’s season comes to a close with an 8-10 record.

Baldi’s game-winner sends Gilford to quarterfinals

It wouldn’t be the Division III boys tournament without a little Golden Eagle magic, right? Four-time defending state champion Gilford kept its playoff hopes alive as Brendan Baldi connected on the go-ahead three-point with three seconds on the clock to give #9 Gilford a 53-50 upset win at #8 Campbell on Tuesday night.

The two squads were close throughout as Gilford took a one-point lead to halftime, 25-24. The Golden Eagles pushed their lead to 10 after three quarters and looked poised to close the game out, but the host Cougars clawed their way back to tie the game at 50-50, setting up Baldi’s dramatics.

Gilford was paced by a game-high 16 points from Mark Uicker, while Baldi and Logan Grant netted 11 and 10, respectively. Hunter Henderson led Campbell with 15 points.

The Golden Eagles advance to the quarterfinal round to take on top seeded Conant on Friday. The Cougars’ season comes to a close at 10-8.

Hopkinton downs Newport, punches ticket to quarters

Abram Standefer pumped in 20 points to pace #5 Hopkinton past #12 Newport, 64-52, on Tuesday night in first round action of the NHIAA Division III Boys Basketball State Tournament.

The Hawks advance to the quarterfinal round where they will take on #4 Kearsarge on Friday night.

Kristof Cauley also netted double-figures with 15 for Hopkinton. The Tigers were led by a game-high 25 points Christian Forsyth and 12 from Aaron Fellows.

With the loss, Newport’s season comes to a close with an 8-11 record.

Defense leads Belmont past Fall Mountain

Keegan Martinez poured in a game-high 19 points to lead #7 Belmont to a 52-36 victory over #10 Fall Mountain in first round action of the NHIAA Division III Boys Basketball State Tournament on Tuesday night.

The Red Raiders advance to the quarterfinal round where they will take on #2 seeded St. Thomas on Friday in Dover.

The Belmont defense was on point as the Raiders allowed just 11 first-quarter points and then no more than nine in any of the final three quarters.

Anakin Underhill also netted double-digits with 16 for Belmont, who shot just 6-14 (42.9%) from the charity stripe as team.

The Wildcats were led by nine points from Owen Riendeau as Fall Mountain’s season comes to a close with a 9-10 record.

Girouard shoots Gorham past Lin-Wood

Madison Girouard poured in a game-high 26 points, including 8 three-pointers, to lead Gorham to a 53-29 victory over visiting Lin-Wood on Monday night.

Sarah Godin added 20 points for the Huskies who improve to 6-12 on the season. The Lumberjacks’ season comes to a close at 4-14.

Langlois leads Gorham past Lin-Wood

Isaac Langlois poured in a game-high 28 points as Gorham ended the regular-season on a five-game win streak with a 79-53 win over visiting Lin-Wood on Monday night.

Kody Lemieux (15) and Brendan Saladino (14) both netted double-digits for the Huskies as well. Liam Manning led the Lumberjacks with 17 points, while Dylan Blood added 12.

With the win, Gorham finishes the regular-season with a 12-6 mark and is tied for 7th in the Division IV standings. Lin-Wood’s season comes to a close with a 2-15 record.

Alvirne downs Dover

Behind a game-high 17 points from Ella Hartson, Alvirne defeated visiting Dover, 51-44, on Monday night.

The Broncos also got 16 points from Rachel Allard and 10 points from Courtney Anderson as the victory moved them into 9th place in the Division I standings. The Green Wave was led by 16 points from Olivia Rutland.

With the win, Alvirne improves to 7-6 on the season, while Dover falls to 10-5.
