Groveton upsets Gorham in first round

Tenth-seeded Groveton went on the road and won a defensive battle at Gorham, 35-27, on Monday night in first round action of the NHIAA Division IV Boys Basketball State Tournament.

With the win, the Eagles advance to the quarterfinals where they will take on #2 Littleton on Thursday.

Groveton held Gorham to just nine made field goals for the entire game, six of which were three-pointers.

The game was tied at 15 at the half and Groveton led by one after three, before outscoring Gorham 16-9 in the final frame to pull away.

Kaden Cloutier led all scorers with 13 points for the Eagles, while the Huskies were paced by 10 from Brendan Saladino.

Girouard shoots Gorham past Lin-Wood

Madison Girouard poured in a game-high 26 points, including 8 three-pointers, to lead Gorham to a 53-29 victory over visiting Lin-Wood on Monday night.

Sarah Godin added 20 points for the Huskies who improve to 6-12 on the season. The Lumberjacks’ season comes to a close at 4-14.

Langlois leads Gorham past Lin-Wood

Isaac Langlois poured in a game-high 28 points as Gorham ended the regular-season on a five-game win streak with a 79-53 win over visiting Lin-Wood on Monday night.

Kody Lemieux (15) and Brendan Saladino (14) both netted double-digits for the Huskies as well. Liam Manning led the Lumberjacks with 17 points, while Dylan Blood added 12.

With the win, Gorham finishes the regular-season with a 12-6 mark and is tied for 7th in the Division IV standings. Lin-Wood’s season comes to a close with a 2-15 record.

Woodsville pulls away from Gorham

Woodsville led by just three at the half, but outscored host Gorham 34-18 in the second half to pull away for a 51-32 win on Tuesday night.

The Engineers were led by 13 points from Paige Royer and 11 from Grace Griswold. Sarah Godin netted a game-high 15 points for the Huskies to lead all scorers.

With the win, Woodsville improves to 12-5 on the season, while Gorham falls to 4-12.

Langlois lifts Gorham past Woodsville

Isaac Langlois poured in a game-high 30 points, including the 1,000th of his career, to lead Gorham to a big Division IV victory over visiting Woodsville, 55-50, on Tuesday night.

Langlois connected on six triples to lead the Huskies. The Engineers were paced by 13 points apiece from Landon Kingsbury & Connor Newcomb, while Ryan Walker added 10.

With the win, Gorham improves to 9-6 on the season and sits in 9th place in the D-IV standings. Woodsville has now dropped back-to-back games for the second time this season and falls to 12-4, 5th in the standings.

Gorham downs Lisbon

The Gorham girls defeated visiting Lisbon, 39-17, on Friday night.

The Huskies’ Madison Girouard led all scorers with a game-high 23 points, while Chaise Wade added 10. Lisbon was led by six points from Arya Kimball.

With the win, Gorham improves to 4-10 on the season, while Lisbon falls to 0-15.

Hoskins shoots Littleton past Gorham

Coming off their first loss of the season, the Littleton boys rebounded with a big 74-55 victory over visiting Gorham on Tuesday night.

The Huskies started strong, leading by two after one quarter of play, 14-12. But the Crusaders dominated the middle quarters, 43-26, to take a commanding 55-40 lead to the 4th and roll to the victory.

Littleton was paced by 32 points, including seven three pointers, from Kayden Hoskins. Mikey Rodriguez added 19 points and three triples of his own and Dre Akines chipped in with 10.

Gorham got 22 points from Isaac Langlois, 13 from Max Grondin and 12 from Jack Saladino.

With the win, the Crusaders improve to 11-1 on the season, while the Huskies fall to 7-6.

Gorham beats the buzzer to knock off Groveton

Jack Saladino connected on a three-pointer as time expired to give Gorham a 49-46 victory over visiting Groveton on Monday night.

The Eagles came out the gates firing as they poured in 21 1st-quarter points and led by nine. The Huskies settled in and clawed their way back, cutting the Groveton lead to five at the break.

A 16-6 3rd quarter put the home Huskies up 42-37 entering the final frame. Groveton came back to tie the game at 46-46, setting up Saladino’s final heroics.

Saladino led Groveton with 12 ponts, while Isaac Langlois added 11. Ashton Tennis was the game’s leading scorer with 13 for Groveton and Kade Cloutier and Dylan Simino each netted 10 points apiece.

With the win, Gorham improves to 7-5. Grove has now dropped three-straight to fall to 6-6.
