St. Thomas captures D-III title in dominating fashion

KEENE, NH – Undefeated top seed St. Thomas put on a dominant performance to complete the perfect season for the Saints as they cruised to a 72-35 victory over No. 2 Fall Mountain on Saturday evening to capture the 2025 NHIAA Division III State Championship at Keene State College.

The championship is just the second in school history for STA, with the first coming back in 1981.

Fall Mountain scored the games first basket to take a 2-0 lead, but the advantage lasted just 19 seconds as St. Thomas tied things up and never trailed again.

The Saints were led by a game-high 24 points, including six three-pointers, by Genevieve Bolduc. Emilie Von Der Linden pulled down an impressive 18 rebounds to go along with 12 points for the games only double-double. Emma Toriello knocked down three triples of her own en route to 15 points as well for St. Thomas.

Clara Stewart was the Wildcats lone double-digit scorer with 10.

St. Thomas dominated the glass 40-18 and managed 28 second-chance points as the Saints size overwhelmed Fall Mountain.

The Wildcats season comes to a close with at 17-2.

Record-breaking shooting performance leads Fall Mountain past Stevens

KINGSTON, NH – No. 2 Fall Mountain drained an NHIAA Girls Division III postseason record 11 threes to down No. 14 Stevens 61-24 in semifinal action on Tuesday night at Sanborn Regional High School.

The Wildcats broke a record that was held by Newport and White Mountains who each hit 10 in 2006 and 2013, respectively.

Clara Stewart was at the forefront of the scoring for the Wildcats, adding 15 points, including four from beyond the arc. Sophia Grillone (12), Abby Jarvis (11) and Kelsey Fillion (10) rounded out the double-digit scoring, all while combining for seven from distance.

Lily Eagen led the way for Stevens with nine points.

Fall Mountain, making its 14th appearance in the state final, will matchup against No. 1 Saint Thomas at Keene State College on Saturday at 1 pm.

Stevens ends its season 8-11 record after a hard fought route to the final four.

Belmont downs Fall Mountain, advances to D-III semifinals

BELMONT, NH – Top-seeded Belmont started slow, but finished strong and cruised to a 72-50 victory over No. 8 Fall Mountain on Friday night in Division III quarterfinal action.

The visiting Wildcats jumped out to a 12-7 lead after one quarter of play before the host Red Raiders kicked into gear. Belmont reeled off a 24-9 second quarter to take a 31-21 lead to the break and they never looked back.

Treshawn Ray led all scorers with a game-high 18 points for the Red Raiders, while Keegan Martinez (15), Anakin Underhill (12) and Brady Thurber (11) all netted double digits as well.

Fall Mountain was paced by 16 points from Luke St. Pierre and 11 from Ledger Willett.

With the win, Belmont moves on to the semifinals to take on No. 5 St. Thomas on Wednesday at Bow High School at 8:00 pm. The Wildcats season comes to a close at 12-6.

Fall Mountain denies Raymond in D-III first round

LANGDON, NH – No. 8 Fall Mountain held No. 9 Raymond to just three second-quarter points en route to a 59-49 victory in first round action of the Division III state tournament on Tuesday night.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 12-5 on the season and advance to the quarterfinals where they will take on top-seeded Belmont on Friday.

The duo of Ledger Willet (24 points) and Luke St. Pierre (21) combined for 45 of Fall Mountains 59 points.

The Rams were led by a game-high 28 points from Dre Duffaut, while Aidan York chipped in with 10 points. Raymond’s season comes to a close at 12-7.

Monadnock hands Fall Mountain first loss

EAST SWANZEY, NH – Monadnock dropped 38 second-half points to knock off undefeated Fall Mountain 61-42 on Tuesday night.

Shaylee Branon led the Huskies with 16 points, while Harper Blood added 13 of her own.

Clara Stewart led the way for the Wildcats with 13 points.

Monadnock improved to 6-2 on the season and Fall Mountain drops to 6-1.

Fall Mountain downs Newport, moves to 4-0

Langdon, NH – Fall Mountain stays undefeated, using a 19-point second quarter to cruise by Newport 45-32 on Wednesday night.

Riley Beckwith scored a season-high 16 points to the lead the Wildcats, Clara Stewart added 11 of her own in the win.

Taylor Fellows netted double figures for the Tigers, adding 11 points.

Newport rallies late past Fall Mountain

NEWPORT, NH – Newport picks up the victory in a hard fought battle against Fall Mountain Tuesday night, 62-55. 

The Tigers entered the fourth quarter down 42-40 but a 22-13 fourth quarter led them to the win. 

For Newport it was the duo of Christian Forsythe and Aaron Fellows who had 24 points each. Forsythe made his impact from deep with four threes on the night. The Tigers picked up their first win of the season and now sit at 1-1.

The Wildcats were led by Luke St. Pierre who had 23 points. Ledger Willett also contributed 18. The Cats moved to 0-2 on the season following the loss.

Defense leads Belmont past Fall Mountain

Keegan Martinez poured in a game-high 19 points to lead #7 Belmont to a 52-36 victory over #10 Fall Mountain in first round action of the NHIAA Division III Boys Basketball State Tournament on Tuesday night.

The Red Raiders advance to the quarterfinal round where they will take on #2 seeded St. Thomas on Friday in Dover.

The Belmont defense was on point as the Raiders allowed just 11 first-quarter points and then no more than nine in any of the final three quarters.

Anakin Underhill also netted double-digits with 16 for Belmont, who shot just 6-14 (42.9%) from the charity stripe as team.

The Wildcats were led by nine points from Owen Riendeau as Fall Mountain’s season comes to a close with a 9-10 record.

Fall Mountain defeats Monadnock

Fall Mountain closed out the regular-season with a 60-43 win at Monadnock on Friday night.

Owen Riendeau and Pat Connors netted 13 points apiece to pace the Wildcats, while the Huskies were led by 11 points from Ben Dean and 10 from Gavin Gomario.

With the win, Fall Mountain improves to 9-9 on the season, while Monadnock falls to 6-11.
